I told Safowaa about this holiday and she celebrated by making me french fries for dinner! Closest thing to potatoes we could get...
Today I went to work expecting to go to the pool. It was planned that the principal and her sister along with a couple volunteers were going to take everyone in the school to the pool. But something happened with the principals sister, I think she got stuck out of town. So it has been postponed to someday this week.
At work I was outside the girls home with some girls playing on the porch behind me. A stray dog was trotting along and I called to him. He looked over and wagged at me and came right over. I scratched in between his ears and above his tail! In exchange, I got some long awaited and much needed puppy kisses! I learned his name is Lucky. I don't think he belongs to anyone, but the kids named him and he chases the goats around the orphanage, so I guess it's his home! I'm glad I have a K9 companion. Most dogs here aren't friendly or are terrified of white people!
Today a woman from UNICEF came to do check ups and vaccinations on the babies. They weighed them all and gave them polio vaccines. I asked if I could take a picture to put on my blog but she said no. Oh well!
I have been teaching "the cup song" to a group of fifth grade girls, they are having so much fun with it. Ill post a video soon.
Bye for now.
